CMC Student Drops Class So He Can Go to Coachella

Claremont, CA

Tuesday morning, CMC sophomore Benjamin Whalerson dropped his computer science elective, because it had a midterm and homework due the Monday after Weekend One of the Coachella Music Festival in April. Whalerson, who lives in Appleby, loves memes, and prefers buying Natural Ice beer instead of Natural Light because “the higher alcohol content is the way to go for sure,” said he was aware that he dropped his class after the “Add” deadline, and could now only earn three academic credits this semester. Regardless, he assured us he was satisfied with his decision in the end.

“I was pretty stoked to take a computer science class this semester, I think it is pretty interesting, but I bought my Coachella pass over winter break, and there is just no way I can miss out on that. I haven’t been yet, and it is basically a CMC tradition at this point. Plus, I definitely don’t want to have to study or anything that weekend. Sometimes you just have to make sacrifices, but I know I am doing the right thing,” Whalerson told the Golden Antlers. He added that he plans to make up the lost academic credit by earning it through his internship this summer. Whalerson also told us he was most excited to see Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Lil Uzi Vert. He hopes Migos will come out and perform with the latter, since the Billboard number one song, “Bad And Boujee” is “a total banger.”

After asking Whalerson if he considered going to Weekend Two instead and staying in his computer science class, he immediately ran to the registrar.
