DataMatch is Coming to the 5Cs!

Tinder got you down? Has rainy weather made you realize how lonely you are? Tired of thinking last Thursday’s TNC hookup was the one that got away? Say no more! The Golden Antlers has teamed up with the Harvard Computer Society (HCS) to bring a real and free match making service to the 5Cs this Valentine’s Day!

DataMatch is a free matchmaking service created by the Harvard Computer Society in 1994. Each year, over 60 percent of Harvard students participate in the survey before Valentine’s Day.

To get “DataMatched,” students will got to www.datamatch.me and register online with their school email address, create an online profile, and when the survey opens you will take answer some questions made by us (the Golden Antlers). Then, the DataMatch team will use an algorithm to calculate compatibility between users and ultimately pair people up for either romantic or platonic dates, depending on the participants’ preferences.

The survey will open February 7th at midnight and close at 9 p.m. on February 13th. On the morning of the 14th, participants will receive their match’s name and contact information and can proceed from there.

Note: All participants’ information is private—the Datamatch team will only see information necessary to develop the algorithm. Some usage statistics may be collected but in that case, names would be separated from the data.
