Danger in Honnold: Chekhov’s Gun Found in Stacks

Authorities are stumped after Chekhov’s gun was found lying on the third floor in the mediocre lazily written college satire magazine section. It is still unclear why or how the gun was placed in Honnold and whether this is a valid plot device or a misdirect.

Librarian and competitive horseshoe enthusiast Martha Gorbachev, recalled the frightening situation, “of course I’m scared, the gun is bound to go off… right?” Gorbachev was once assistant director to the Pennsylvania state circus and is mostly unimportant to the overall story, so ironically her inclusion makes a lot of sense in a bit about Chekhov’s gun (which will inevitably go off in the third act).

Oh, BTW, there is a big cliff in the Pomona Farm now.

Luckily, security eventually apprehended the criminal and the gun was confiscated. With the gun still unfired, Officials debated whether or not they should fire the gun themselves. Officer Bradeley J.T. Cupingham argued, “If it’s gonna go off regardless, might as well have some fun with it.” Other officers were a little more skeptical, debating whether if they shot the gun straight up, it would come down and hit them two acts later.

The criminal turned out to be only a mediocre English major, who willingly introduces unnecessary details into their stories without any resolution. Sadly, the story does not end there. Traggodari has reported that the red herring was chased all the way to the big cliff in the Pomona farm. “He is just hanging there. Is he going to be okay? What if he gets sleepy? He doesn’t have hands… he can’t hang on that long.”
