I am really not vibing with this guy Tyler in my “Queering the Rise of Fascism” class. When he’s called on he screams “ME PLAY FOOTBALL!!!!!” During a group discussion, I asked him “Do you think the Axis Powers were polyamorous?” and he was like “GO GO GO TOUCHDOWWNNN!”
As a progressive trying to live up to the standards of equity, I believe everyone, even men, deserve to have an education. However, Tyler is a jackass. I know he needs this GE credit but he’s a fucking idiot. To truly have an egalitarian classroom, people who aren’t inclusive need to be excluded. I assume Tyler doesn’t believe in equal rights, because when I brought them up he said “EQUAL RIGHTS? EQUAL RIGHTS TO TASTE DEEZ NUTZ!” and when I tried explaining how offensive that was he just kept going “DAP ME UP BRO DAP ME UP.”
I don’t want to use elitist rhetoric, but student athletes are fundamentally stupid people who don’t deserve to be here. They’re too dumb to understand equal education. I’ve tried to be good to Tyler. I’ve gently explained to him that his way of inhabiting the world is fundamentally incorrect and disgusting. He doesn’t get it. He just yells “I’M A FOOTBALL.”
