Claremont Independent Requests Scripps Nazi Statue: “If You Guys Don’t Want It Anymore…”

In the last few months, the statue which stands in the Scripps gym, made by the 2nd most famous Nazi artist George Kolbe, has been ensnared in controversy. Many students have called for the statue to be removed, but word has it that the Claremont Independent would love to maybe have it maybe.

We reached out to a representative from the paper, who said this: “We hear Scripps might be getting rid of their Nazi statue. If you guys don’t want it anymore, we’ll take it. Only if you don’t want it though.”

When asked if the Claremont Independent saw the statue as problematic, they proudly proclaimed, “As unbiased news, we are proudly in the center of all issues. We’re just trying to be balanced.”

“I mean c’mon, when you think about it both sides are the same, because they are on opposite sides. We just want to proudly display a Nazi statue in our writer’s room to show how much we love free speech.”

He continued, saying that although the Claremont Independent does not like fascists (just some of the ideas), some members of the Claremont Independent really identify with some of the ideas Nazi statues represent. He then went on to say some questionable things, which the Golden Antlers do not feel are fit for publishing.
