1. Jade and Mollie Sue’s Fight
You may remember model Jade Cole as a feisty diva who was always getting into trouble — but one fight of hers you may have missed was the one between her and Mollie Sue in Week 2. After Kathy (cunt) was eliminated, and Tyra (bitch) declared Jade and Mollie Sue as 7th and 8th place respectively, the girls did not take this well. During what witnesses described as a “Kill Bill-esque” tussle, Jade allegedly grabbed Mollie Sue by the ponytail and flung her around the living room. After helicoptering the white girl for minutes, Jade let go and the girl was flung through the window, falling four stories into the neighboring mansion’s back yard.
This did not end the conflict. When Mollie Sue returned, Jade repeated the process again, this time launching her further, with Mollie Sue landing on the neighbor’s roof. Wwhen Mollie Sue tried to come back in the model house again, she was too late — Jade had locked the front door, and Mollie Sue was eliminated immediately. In a deleted scene, Jade was given the ‘ANTM Wrestling Belt’, which she used to whip producers and cameramen. An actor was brought in to double as Mollie Sue after the incident, placing 9th place.
2. Kari’s FIRST Makeover
Many remember Kari from South Dakota’s first makeover: a 60’s, bouncy blonde look, which made her a crowd favorite. What most viewers don’t know, however, is that this was actually her second makeover filmed.
In her first makeover, she was shaven completely smooth, eyebrows and all. She was coated in a clear slime from head to toe, and the salon spent nearly six hours constructing twigs and sticks on top of her head. A family of sparrows was then introduced to her ‘nest-wig’ — and, for the last touch, solid red contacts were inserted into her eyes to give her a truly unique look.
Surprisingly, Kara HATED the look. Are you surprised! I was so, so surprised! I shit my pants!
When it was revealed in the full body mirror, she screamed, scaring the family of sparrows. She attempted to attack the hairdressers and producers, but the viscous slime made her attacks ineffective. It was so viscous. The girl began to levitate inches off the ground, making for a truly unique and memorable makeover. Unfortunately, one of the sparrows pecked a nearby cameraman. This violated SAG-AFTRA regulations, which caused producers to go back to the drawing board.
3. They Switched Sara Albert With a Body Double in Week 7
This secret is much more well-known. After Sara was sent to the ‘ANTM Basement’ after her poor performance in Week 7, she was quickly lost in the labyrinth. Though her punishment was only meant to last for a few hours, instead she found herself lost forever — when producers checked in on her GPS that night, they found that she was pinging [overly detailed explanation of GPS and pinging] nearly 80 miles away. An executive decision was made to replace Sara with her body double after production was halted for 30 minutes. Sara remains lost in the labyrinth, joining the other girls who failed their ‘ANTM Basement’ escapes.
4. The dark, creeping shadows that slowly take over the Model House
This season’s model house, which was genuinely the house that the Black Dahlia’s body was found in the front yard of, served as the backdrop for the model’s daily lives. However, some observant viewers noticed the shadows creeping into every corner, between every crack in the wall, and in the rooms of the girls while they were sleeping. At the time, some viewers also noticed the people in the paintings moving and going missing, and the produce in the kitchen quickly becoming blighted.
Eventually, after three shadowed figures appeared in Week 9 and tried to drag Brooke into the pool in the wee hours of the morning, a production decision was made to put the house in lockdown mode — that is, the girls were locked inside of the house with no crew or cameramen. After production returned, Joanie had been sacrificed to appease the spirits. Joanie was replaced by Mollie Sue’s body double, who had been eliminated in Week 5.
“I looked her between the eyes and said ‘You deserve this.’ And she did, Tyra had just been talking about how she was disappointed in her lack of depth of emotion in the krumping challenge.” – Sara Albert
